Hi, I’m Mattias Fuster. I build games, engines and tools in C++.
A short story about me.
I'm a junior software engineer who enjoys working close to the metal — from architecture decisions to performance tuning. I've shipped features in production games, built tools that saved my team time, and I'm currently on the R&D team at Virtuos Labs in Montpellier. On the side I'm building ImEngine, my own game engine written from scratch in C++23. I like clean, purposeful code, and I tend to dig into problems until I actually understand them.

R&D internship in Montpellier. I'm implementing a mesh partitioning optimization algorithm and contributing to two tools that help stabilize and speed up game production workflows.

Set up the networking (PlayFab) for a multiplayer game on Unreal Engine 5.6, and refactored the project from Blueprints to C++ — cleaning up the architecture and improving performance along the way.

Post-Launch Support Engineer - Collision Studio
Post-launch support on Terra Alia (Unity, released on Steam). Tracked down and fixed a critical deadlock in the dialogue system — a race condition across concurrent coroutines — that was blocking a major content update, plus 10+ other reported bugs over the 3-month contract.

AI & Tool Programmer - PVA Medias
Built a procedural NPC generation prototype in Unreal Engine 5, wiring LLM and TTS models into the engine to generate storylines, personalities and dialogue. Delivered the full pipeline, from model integration to in-engine runtime, in four months.
